Talking to a fundi, or a customer

Messaging is free and unlimited. There are four rules, and they exist so both sides are protected.

  1. Rule 1

Keep it here until the price is agreed

It's how we can help if something goes wrong, and it's how a fundi earns the review that brings the next job.

  2. Rule 2

Don't share phone numbers before the job is booked

We hide numbers, emails and WhatsApp links in messages until the job is booked. The moment it is, both numbers appear in the conversation automatically — you won't need to work around anything.

  3. Rule 3

Don't arrange payment off the platform

If money moves outside Kazi Fundi there's no record of what was agreed, and neither side has any protection.

  4. Rule 4

    Be decent

No abuse, no discrimination, no pressure. Report anything that crosses a line — there's a report button in every conversation.

What happens if the rules are broken

A conversation where contact details are hidden more than once is flagged for our team to read. First time, we send a warning. After that a fundi loses their verified badge, and then the account. We'd much rather never do any of this — completing work here is what builds the reviews and the ranking that keep a fundi busy.
