How payment works
Payment is held, not handed over
When a job is booked, the fundi's price is paid by Mobile Money into Kazi Fundi and sits there. The fundi can see the money is secured, and it is released to them once you confirm the work is finished. Materials the job needs are agreed separately with the fundi.
Raise a problem before confirming
If the work is incomplete or not what was agreed, tell us before you confirm. The payment stays held while we review the job, the messages and the photos with both sides.
A written record of what was agreed
Price, timeline and scope are recorded on the job. If there's a disagreement later, nobody has to rely on memory.
Contact details stay hidden
Phone numbers and emails typed into public job posts are masked automatically, so nobody can harvest them.

Staying safe
- Keep chats and payments on Kazi Fundi — off-platform deals have no protection and no record.
- Ask to see the badge in the app rather than a card or a certificate shown at the door.
- Reviews can only be left by customers with a completed, paid job — no anonymous ratings.
- Report anyone who asks you to pay outside the app; repeat offenders lose their badge.
